Left over. Not left behind.

Every sweater we make leaves behind cones of high-quality yarn. Too small for a full production run. Too precious to discard.

On vintage German knitting machines from the 1960s, these remnants are plied together in high numbers.

The result is a blanket of exceptional weight, elasticity, and depth of colour.

Character that modern machines cannot replicate.

Available in two versions: LOYAL in a dotted jacquard, and HAVEN in solid colours and melanges.

The man behind the machine. Since 1954.

Born in 1946, Holger is the son of S. N. S. HERNING's founder. He has been knitting since the age of eight.

Holger operates the vintage German machines that produce our blankets.

Machines that require a specific knowledge, accumulated over decades, to run at all.

For Holger, they are not a constraint. They are the medium through which he works out his ideas, pattern by pattern, colour by colour.
